  1. The Dell W3207C does have a digital tuner, so you do not need a converter box.

If you look at the back of your Dell you will find two antenna connectors. One is marked analog and one is marked digital. To receive both analog and digital broadcasts you will need to connect an antenna to both inputs.

You can get a passive splitter for a few dollars that will split your antenna line.

Since most areas already have digital broadcasts, I suggest hooking your antenna to the digital input and have your HDTV scan for digital channels.

Some converters like the Zenith/Insignia have better digital tuners  than the best ones that were made a few years ago, so if you  get marginal digital reception you might spend $20 (after coupon) for one to see if it improves things.

  2. No. Do i need one?

    i Have a Sony 27" i got about 7 years ago

  3. No! It's all in there somewhere!

  4. HDTV was made for high definition, digital broadcasts.  However, your existing signal is analogue and if you get a digital signal in Feb. your set should be easily able to handle it.  If you want digital signal now itself, you can go for your own dish tv. (DTH) i.e. direct to home.  It is well worth the effort.  You can then enjoy the clarity of your set even more than you do at the moment.
