Do lip piercings hurt?

So I was watching a lot of lip piercing videos on youtube, and it doesn't seem like it hurts that bad. I want one, like SO bad. I am just not a huge fan for pain. I have heard a lot of different stories. Like, it is a lott of pain. And then, I heard they put numbing jell on before they even do it. What do you think about this. Tell me some information. Or, tell me your own story..

I don't really think mine hurt. It's over before you know it. You really don't need the gel or ice. The piercing is worth the little bit of pain you have to endure for that minute or two.

i got one and asked the guy to numb it. he did the gel and ice, lol

it worked that's for sure. would i do without the gel or ice? nope.

Try it out. it won't hurt all day, maybe a little... keep it clean though.

have you ever accidentally pricked yourself with a needle? well that's exactly what it's like. they numb the inside so all you feel is it breaking the outside skin and that doesn't hurt.

i am seriously scared of needles and was shaking when i went to get mine done but they guy calmed me down and talked me through it. when he put the needle in i gasped slightly but that was more because of the shock that the pain.

No reputable piercer will put numbing jell on it. Piercings hurt. It's just a part of getting it done. They bleed, they crust, and ooze. They might even get infected if you don't take care of it properly.

Why don't you go and ask a piercer yourself? You wouldn't want people on here telling you anything that isn't true, right?
