Yes I've played chess, shogi, 3D Chess, hexagonal chess, blind chess, star chess, exchange chess and a few more besides.

Like most games, it is fun as long as you don't take it too seriously and  play at a good pace. I've given a couple of grandmasters a good game in my time, but like backgammon there is no fun at the highest levels.

i have tried several times to play but i don't understand where to move the pieces, i think you need a very large brain box to understand it

I played chess a lot when I was little with my dad and two of my brothers. I have also started teaching my 2 daughters to play. It's a good game that makes you think about consequences for your actions.

Yeah as a teenager I taught myself to play using a book from the library. Then I taught my dad so I had someone to play against. Now I'm an adult I dont have anyone around me who knows how to play or cares to learn. Sad really.

Yes, i learnt from my uncle when i was 9. I entered tournaments in school and i came 4th out of 8 schools (around 3500-4000)but i haven't played in nearly 2 years.
