Me and my mom were very open, she went with me when I went on the pill but we've always been very open about s*x and in general. I think it depends on how close the relationship is. I wouldnt go into details and I didnt shout out all the details, but I told my mom I wanted to go on the pill because I was going to sleep with my boyfriend.

I think its very personal and very dependent on the mother daughter relationship and how close they both are.

I kept it to myself, I love my mom and all, and we normally tell eachother everything, but that was something I didn't want to do. It felt very personal. Ironically though, she had a hunch and mentioned it to me about 3 weeks later! It was creepy as all heck! It depend on how you feel and how close you and your mom are. Some have no problem, and others just want that to be kept personal.

Definitely depends on the relationship. If the two are close or have an open relationship where they feel comfortable discussing such matters, a person may certainly tell their mum. She could be a great source of information & advice. As well, she could help make sure they are using protection.

i kept it to myself, it was private but some people do tell im sure, thats if they have a relationship with their mother were they can talk about that kind of stuff

Did your mom tell you about the time she lost her virginity? Didnt think so!  Thats a private matter and if your old enough to have s*x then you should be old enough to have private thoughts.  You dont have to tell anyone if you dont want to.

Mine found out by accident.... I was in to have an operation and they were going through my medical history and asked me if I was on the pill in front of my mum :s... I was 18 or 19 at the time... she prob had an inkling anyway

That really depends on the relationship. Some feel they can and others not. If Mum and Daughter are close then most probably yes, but if Mum has issues about s*x then no. There is no, yes or no answer to this question. My daughter didn't tell me at first, but shortly after wards she did.

I wouldn't, most people keep this sort of stuff to themselves, unless you have a really good relationship with your mum and you know that you can tell her anything. She will probably find out on her own anyway...I know my mum did!
