Do tasers work on dogs?

Please Don't use a Taser on ANY dog.

Tasers were designed to take down people -- not (smaller) dogs.

If you have a problem with a dog or anticipate running into trouble with a dog you can use pepper spray.  That will hurt the animal but at least you won't run the risk of killing it as you would with a taser.

pepper spray works on bears and dogs too.

Probably so, but by the time you got your taser and was about to shoot or poke you have already gotten bitten.  Just avoid the dog, don't make any sudden moves or try to threaten the dog.  This way you shouldn't have to use the tazer.

Why do you need to taser a dog?  I'm sure they would work, but I would think that they may really hurt the dog.  Not a good idea.  Police have used them in several states to break up dog fights and as protection against dog attacks.  In VT one pit bull terrier was killed by the use of a taser.
