  1. Many trains have sensors which detect whether the door is properly closed or not (both sliding and swing door), but not of the type that re-opens automatically if something gets stuck in it. In the UK you'll see orange lights on each car which go out when all the doors on that car are proved locked shut. There's also an indication in the driver's cab showing whether all the doors on the whole train are locked shut. If they're not after a few seconds, usually they'll open and re-close the doors, either to give somebody a chance to retrieve their leg or to give the doors a proper slamming shut.

So, in a way, yes many trains do have sensors, but not in the way you're describing.

  2. some trains do but i dont recommend putting your hand out of the doors before they close just in case because there are no signs on the doors telling you there are sensors

  3. Ellie's right

when it is time to go, the engineer isnt going to be dilly-dallying around while someone waves their hand in the door playing games.

  4. nope train doors do not have sensor and safety belts too.

city railway or tube yes they have sensor on the door.

  5. Depends... There are trains that have and there are trains that don't.

Many modern light rail vehicles use even two systems: photo-electric guard plus sensors in the border of the sliding door. The first can be switched of by the driver if the train is really crowded (so that the doors wouldn't close becaus people accidentally disturb the light beams).

Some other vehicles monitor the force needed to close the door or simply if the doors are closed at all (while applying only harmless forces so that injuries are very unlikely).

  6. In the U.S. I believe most are designed so they will not squeeze with crushing force, however they will not "see" you and stop early like on an elevator (lift).

  7. no. it smashes your ******* hand.
