Do travelers checks ever expire?

New Jersey wants to seize the funds of unused travelers checks after 3 years.

I have some travellers cheques from about 15 years ago and just hoped that there is no expiry after that long

Travelers check never expire, mainly because they continue to generate revenue for the issuer for as long as they aren't cashed. Technically speaking a TC can be viewed as an interest-free loan to the issuer by the party buying the check therefore it is in the best interest of the issuer that the check not be cashed too quickly.
