do u think maybe i could speak to the family therapist about my mom letting me get my own apartment once i could afford it? i am 23. she is still very protective. i'm not saying i don't love or appreciate her because i love her. she will always be my mom. i need a life on my own. the therapist always asks if my mom pushes me or bugs me the therapist seems to understand that. there are apartments that are close by with public transportation. i have epilepsy i have an emergency box and a button that comes with it. i can use it whenever i need help. i haven't had a seizure since 2006. i'm sure there are people with seizures who live alone. i want to talk to the therapist about my mom being protective next time i see her.

  1. I have a friend who's epileptic, and gets fits on occasion, but she has two great housemates who know the story and help her out when she needs it - and she returns the favours when she can.

If you can find a good flatmate to help with the rent and all, that might be a huge help.

  2. There are tons of people who have seizures who live on there own.  I work with many (they are my clients).  you go for it!  You will be so proud of yourself and so will she once she sees that your making it.

  3. go for it....
