Do vampires take showers?

Question

I've just finished reading the twilight series and the one detail stephenie meyer didn't include was if vampires take showers.

She wrote that they smell good and are pretty, but that's all; so does anyone know if they do or don't?

Even if you don't know could you write maybe a fact you know about vampires that might help me solve this mystery.

Well you can't smell good and never take baths or showers silly :) It messes up something in the laws of physics. Read Newtons 17th law.

Jk. Well maybe they use cologne or something because where could you find a shower in a castle?

i dont think vampires are real but if there is maybe they do take showers its confusing when u think about it actually

It depends on the story / film / game.  In Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, for example, running water was a hinderance to vampires - they could not cross a river, except at a bridge, while imersion in running water would destroy them - so in that case, they would definitely have an aversion to showers..

No, vampires get their smell from the blood they consume. The foreign blood gets distributed throughout the vampire's skin creating its tone and also the unique smell. Ironically, this smell made from human blood is also used to attract them. Vampires do not need to shower or want to. That's a human thing.

i dont think they do

I ive read up to the 3rd bookso far i got them in 3 days and read one each day....couldnt put it down lol but anywayz bella tells edward hang on i need a human moment and takes a shower so obiously they dont she wouldnt say human moment if vamps did it to but since vamps are real and i have read up on them since ive been intrested in them since i was a kid from the storys from ireland they smell awful but vamps have a charming personality to lead there prey so to anyone human they smell great :] hope i helped

But why does it matter if it couldn't get them sick in anyway?

So I think they only reason they'd need a shower would be if they painted themself, seeing as they can't spill anything on themselfs because of how graceful they are...well apart from Alice whenever she has visions.

omg i cant beleive you missed it. in the third book,  page 255 it says that vipires take showers and they wash with this special body wash that smells like strawberrys.

you musnt be a very dedicated twilight reader if you missed that bit.. btw wats your favourite book?

I don't see why they would have to take showers unless something was spilled on them. They have no bodily fluids so that means no sweat, no oil, no saliva, no nothing. They have nothing to make them dirty.

Humans take showers... why? Because our hair and skin get oily, we get sweaty, we... well, we get dirty in 'other' places due to 'other' things. Things that vampires do not have. All vampires have is venom and venom stays inside a vampire's body until he bites somebody.

Pluuuuus. When Bella needs to shower she tells Edward "I need another human moment". And he nods and waits for her to finish. Why would she call it a 'human moment' if vampires did it too? And, you don't hear anything about a bathroom during the tour of the Cullen's mansion = ]

the only fact you need to know about vampires are they aren't real there just stories and the people who claim they are "real vampires" are either mentally unstable or there just plain lying

Given they traditionally sleep in coffins they probably smell a bit earthy, so they should.  But I don't think they do.  I don't believe they do smell good.  But because they have a hypnotic effect on people (through their gaze, usually), people don't notice the smell and, being mesmerised, imagine they smell good.  If you could break their hypnotic hold, you would realise they really smell like dirt and dried blood and the sweat of their victims.

In these modern, post-Anne Rice days, most people seem to think vampires are these suave, good-looking guys in fancy clothes.

However, the OLD stories, which are the source of vampire lore, consistently tell us that vampires are hideous and lack in personal hygiene.

So no, vampires do not shower. Vampire WANNABES, however, not only shower, they take long baths with expensive soaps and lotions. And they use cologne.

Vampires are known for their body being impervious to age. Dirt and grime are naturally accumulated. It's not like they repel uncleanliness.

If their body completely ceases all grotesque natural function (the ability to get dandruff, to sweat, etc) then I would imagine they would shower less than a human.
