Do you think they think about nothing but the American Way of life rather than common sense?

I mean I would rather choose common sense over ANYTHING...but all they believe is that "America is SUPPOSE to be like this & that"..but do they really take basic human common sense into consideration?

Sure it's good to "act" American & be Patriotic....but when the time comes for something to happen..they don't know what to do & have no plans of doing it. It's feels like a Fantasy World to them basically...What do you think?

  1. There are "brainwashed," ignorant and unobservant people on both sides of the political debate, and anyone who says otherwise is the same and needs to open their mind a bit more to both sides of the issue.  And, well, I'll just say that the democracy that the United States has turned into isn't the way it was mean to be when it was created.    The country started going down hill as the republic it was intended to be mutated into a democracy, where 60% of the population making the choices barely have a high school education level. =]

Otherwise, my parents are Republican, and so are a lot of people I know.  Of course, I know a lot of Democrats too.  As for me, I prefer not to vote with a party.  I do my research, and I decide which is best; never was one to blindly follow the new fads.  Also, stereotyping an entire party is not politically correct...something both presidential candidates need to get through their heads.

  2. Yes, one track minded.

  3. I'm not exactly sure where you're going.. But I do think they see "black and white" on some issues.. Like the economy, their view = Give money to business and they will hire.. Ummm, I think it's a little more complicated than just that.. Or you wouldn't see multi billion dollar companies do layoffs, like they often do..

  4. Its the same brainwash the Republican party has used for years now, they used the same tactics to get Bush elected twice. Look at all the "Service FIrst" signs up at the RNC. They want you to believe that they are somehow more patriotic and care more about this country. The Republican Party tries to imply that if you truly love this country, you will be on their side, and its complete B.S. Enough is enough.

  5. I don't really know what you're asking.  I think the American Way of life is common sense.  But I understand if you would think that blind patriotism is sometimes against common sense, then that's not good. So, I don't really think Republicans believe this, whatever it is you think they are believing in this question.

  6. AR82:

Enough is enough? Really? You really think that one man, Obama, is going to completely turn this country around? Come on, seriously. All Obama is is a good speech. If he takes office (which I pray he does not), none of the things he says he'll do (which he mysteriously fails to explain how he'll pay for them) will not happen. He's going to quickly realize that taking the troops out of Iraq is a very bad and unsafe decision. All you democrats are so convinced that every republican is a snob-nosed, one-minded, brainwashed, over-patriotic American. If you ask me, that sounds like one-minded and snob-nosed right there. Please, take your hippy BS somewhere else.

  7. I asked a man I work with who is a republican this question,"If one of your children came to you and said, Dad I think I'm g*y." How are you going to look at them and explain that you consider g**s to be subhumans. he denied that he thought that. To which I pointed out that he surely would deny g**s the same rights and protections under the law as straight people. Then I asked him about his relationship with his wife as it was purely about s*x. He denied that as well. When pressed as to why he thought all g*y relationships were based on s*x exclusively he was speechless. except to say it was anti-god. Religion is diametrically opposed to common sense. No sensible man thinks any religion is 100% factual or the bible is all inclusive and omnipotent

  8. About $2.5 trillion of a $3 trillion budget for 2009 is for some sort of social program.  Even so, it's estimated that there is going to be a $407 billion deficit. Obviously two things need to be done to balance the budget.  Cut or tax.  Eliminating the war on terror (including the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan) with still result in a $350 billion deficit. Taxes are already at the optimum level so increasing them just hurts the economy more than it is and then increases the cost of social programs as there are more people on these programs.

Obama wants to increase social spending and the only way to do it is tax more.

McCain wants to cut more which means cutting into social programs.

Either way, somebody is going to get hurt financially.

Obama swears that it'll be just the rich that will have money.  McCain is using the example of the Palin family to show that the conservative model works even on a family that resembles the hurt and struggling family Obama and the liberals talk about.  While Obama was writing books on how his life sucked, the Palins were enjoying life even though they were facing more challenges with less money.  That is the Reagan optimism the Republicans want to project.

  9. i think this insult is disguised as a question...but let me tell you how i think...

i am a republican...i am proud of my country..always have been...i feel blessed to live in this great land...and like to think i honor the men and women who have fought to make it so...

i believe there is right and wrong...good and evil...and moral equivalency is abhorrent...especially when comparing stacking men in a pyramid to brutally hacking someone's head off... they are most assuredly not the same "torture"...i can think of other examples of ME..but you get the idea...

i believe we have to take responsibility for our own actions..and our own lives...we need to support ourselves financially...and if we s***w up...well..then we s***w up..we take ownership...work to mend what we have done...and move on with our lives...blaming mommy / daddy / the government / others for our problems doesn't solve them...it only makes us "victims"....

i believe in sharing...i give to charities of my own choosing...it is not the governments job to give my money away...it is the government's job to keep the borders safe...and to be as non-intrusive as possible...

I do not want to support a healthy man/woman because s/he has chosen to have children s/he cannot support… I will however pay for birth control…and welfare for 4 years, IF s/he chooses to go to college…if not…you are on your own…part of that “taking responsibility” thing…also at the end of 4 years of college…support yourself and your family…no more handouts… I have worked since I was 15 years old…supported a family…and educated myself....don’t tell me there are no jobs…I am an RN…I KNOW THERE IS WORK…hospitals/nursing homes are ALWAYS begging for help…

I mentioned birth control earlier…that doesn’t mean abortion because you were too lazy to use a condom…..i am a nurse..and I am very much against killing babies…if you don’t want children? Don’t get pregnant.. there are methods which are effective 100% of the time…tubal ligation and vasectomy work very well in that department…I had one child because I knew he was all I could support…he is 30 now.. he was the last of my pregnancies….i would like to have had a daughter…but that pesky notion of being a responsible citizen got in the way…

I could go on and on…giving examples of my thinking…a common sense way of looking at the world…but let me ask you this…

Does it make sense that a free people should be looking to the government to make all their decisions for them? That a free people should be standing in line with their hands out so that “Big Brother” can take care of them? That individuals think they are “entitled” to government handouts because they can’t find a job when there are jobs available?

i live in reality...and i like it here...i am not a "victim", nor do i want someone else to take responsibility for my life...i make my own decisions and always live with the outcome...

Fantasy is thinking you can do everything for everyone and not raise taxes...

Fantasy is thinking you can win over a group who wants nothing less than your destruction...

Fantasy is thinking you can sit down with a man who would use nuclear bombs to finish the job Hitler started....

Fantasy is thinking you can solve the energy problem by doing nothing...
