Question:

Do you like craigslist?

I find really great stuff on there - but the people run c**p lines on me like "yeah, I can hold it until Saturday..." when I can actually find the time to drive umpteen miles to where they are, just to be informed a day or two before they've already sold it. I don't know how many times I've made appointments to see a washer & dryer just to have it sold out from under me mere hours before leaving the house for it. Unfortunately, it is hard to find a FREE washer & dryer on freecycle.org...

Anyone else experience this problem? Are there any other sites similar to craigslist that may prove to be a little more fruitful?

  1. Craigslist is pretty cool.

  2. Actually a very valuable tool.I have used it to buy and sell with great success.

One must remember your dealing with people from all walks of life on there. As for holding a item?,mmmm. The main problem I saw was people forget to delete there add and it runs for 45 days.

As for "free stuff" you had better be wearing your PF Flyers when you see it posted.

    My Best

  3. well.... from watching alot of these Judge shows I see alot of fraud stuff and people ripping others off from craigslist.... you need to be sure the stuff is all legit before you buy!!!!!!!

  4. We get washers and dryers posted moderately regularly on our Freecycle group. Not often, but one or two a month.

Yeah, it is my experience with Craigslist that most stuff (even for sale, not just free) is far away and gone before I'm able to get it.

What we don't get is offers of free, working gas stoves...
