Do you like the name True?

Question

There is something about it that I like... I got the name from the show "Tru Calling". If I even use it I probably will use it as a first or second middle name only. The name True also has a significant meaning to me.

what do you think of these names?

and if i decide to use it as a first name i might just use the name Trisha and use True as a nickname.

I think it is beautiful. If I had a baby girl I wanted to name her Miracle people gave us a lot of c**p for that. But we wanted too because that is what it was. However it was a boy.

I love True!  I'd probably recommend using it as a middle name, though, as you have said.

It's a great one-syllable option, especially if you like virtue names but are tired of the same old Graces, Hopes, and Faiths.  Truth would also be a name to consider; it reminds me of Sojourner Truth, and I love names with a historical connection.

All your combinations are nice.  My favorite is probably Marina True, since I tend to prefer just one middle name.  Here are a few more combinations to consider:

Elizabeth True (I love Elizabeth paired with a daring middle name)

Susanna True

Alethea True (Alethea means "truth" in Greek)

Olivia True

Lydia True

Evelyn True

Helena True

If you'd like to use True as a first name, I think it would be best to just name your daughter True instead of Trisha.  Even though it's a bit daring, I think True is much prettier than Trisha.  I'd be delighted to meet a little girl named something like True Isabella, True Elizabeth, True Miranda, or even True Olivia Scarlett.

My nephew's name is Truett Christopher...They call him True as a nickname.

I think it is a little much. I am all for non traditional names but True seems a little preachy. Like Prophet or something to that effect. I like the last two in the first list but they are all fine names.

True makes it sound like your trying way too hard to be different. And I can just see that conversation when your kid is in her twenties and someone asks her full name and True comes out of her mouth... Probably wont go over well... But your ideas for the other names are great, stick with those!

Speaking as a teacher, don't name your child anything that rhymes with a rude word that children use as they are bound to mercilessly abuse it!  True rhymes with poo.  Just a thought.

I actually always liked True as a name.

However, I don't like the name Trisha.  I think True is a fine first name, better than Trisha.

If not, I do like Alexandra Scarlet True.  That's my favorite of the bunch.

I agree about Ashlyn and Neveah, those are aweful, but Minnie and Usagi are names. Minnie is German, and Usagi is Japanese.

True doesn't work as a nickname for Tricia.

I agree with the person who recommended "Trudy". It's cute, you can shorten it to "Tru" and it might not suck as bad when she gets older.

I love it one of my friends that ive known since 5th grade is a male and his name is Truth so i guess Truth is more masculine and True is feminine.

i like it as a first name as well as any other way.

P.S. i dont agree with jules as a teen myself that hangs out with children you can rhyme any name with a nasty word.
