  1. I do quilting and embroidery.  I would like quilting lessons, learning a new pattern.

  2. I'd like greater access to much more advances sewing classes, in things like tailoring, couture finishing, advanced pattern cutting, and draping on the stand.  I'd like to learn more about corset making, both historical and modern, and advanced techniques for wedding gowns, using both modern and traditional techniques.  I want to learn more about dying, and painting fabrics.

To get any of this now I have to go to The London School of Fashion, and right now I need something easier to get to that doesn't need me to drive half way across the county to get there!  I don't drive, so I need to get to classes by public transport.

  3. I do both but not very well so probably classes.

  4. Beginning sewing classes

    Beginning quilting classes

Sewing machine instructions - how to use/how it operates

    Sewing machine repair/cleaning

    Notions notions notions

Good variety of flosses, yarns, ribbons, tools, and of course fabrics

Nicely matched fabrics in Fat Quarters

Perhaps a weekly quilting bee as a way of bringing folks together.  And a "my-house-to-yours" shared quilting where participants donate pieces of their own fabric and those pieces are used with one quilt pattern by everyone to create individual quilts. It's a lovely way to share and make a qult of your own with the love and care and help of your fellow quilters.

  5. I do both. There's a great sewing notions shop in my neighborhood that offers all the products and services HuggyKat mentioned, except for quilting bees and "my-house-to-your-house" projects.

  6. I like to sew, piece quilts, design quilts, quilt quilts. I have taught some quilting classes.

  7. Classes-I would love great sewing classes. Specifically from beginning on up and that teaches a type of method. I would also like classes where you make a specific item.

Fabric-I have a hard time finding great cottons to make clothes out of (skirts, dresses, etc.) Most of the fabric around here are for quilting and it's hard to find other stuff.

Faux Fur-More fur during Halloween season! I can only find white, tan and black - that's it!!!

Service-Repair services (sharpening, tuning up machine, etc). Customer service - enough people at the cutting table! :)

These would be the things I would change about the stores in my area.
