Probably not.   Large numbers of stars don't mean much.  Right of the bat you can eliminate all except the G class stars.  I suppose life is possible around F and K stars but the chances are low.  F stars generally don't have sufficient lifetimes.  K stars are great for time but their HZs are too narrow.  Then you can eliminate a good percentage of galaxies that are too young, since their stars can't form rocky planets.  And stars near the centers of galaxies can be tossed out of the equation too.  Galactic centers are unhealthy.  Then throw out any G class stars that happen to reside in areas near very large stars.....

Now if life does develop, the chances of complex life are very rare.  On Earth that took about 3 to 4 billion years.  On earth there have been something like 50 billion species.  Only one, ours, is technological.  

SETI hasn't found any alien radio waves in 50 years of searching billions of frequencies.  The Fermi Paradox suggests that if there was life, it would be here by now.  It isn't.  

The odds are very good that we are quite alone.  And if we aren't, we will never know about it.  So whats the difference?

Yes, the chance that there is a very, very high. If the dimension of time never collapses on itself, and space continues to expand at very high speeds creating more space for more stars, galaxies, life etc, there is a 100% chance there is alien life somewhere in the universe.

Come to think of it, are Angels and Devils aliens?

If they are, that means half the world believes in them.

Are ghosts aliens as well, they're an alternate life (death) form.

It seems pretty alien not to believe in aliens.

several facts about space:

1. we are constantly finding planets around other stars. it is looking like there are an abundance of planets and that it is the norm for stars to have planets

2. there are 100 billion stars in our galaxy.

3. there are 100 billion galaxies in the known universe.

so thats an awful lot of possibility that life exists on other planets. (if the multiverse theory proves to be true then we can probably multiply again making it nigh on infinite).

and closer to home...

1. we have discovered creatures on earth capable of living in extremes of environment from the permanently frozen rocks in antarctica to the volcanic vents on the mid atlantic ridge.

2. environments on mars are very similar to those found in antarctica and northern canada.

3. a second ocean would appear to exist on a moon of Jupiter called Europa hidden under miles of ice.

my opinion is that there is a fair chance of life being discovered in our solar system and that in the vastness of the universe more planets will exist that are very similar to earth. in order for us to have direct evidence we would need a species capable of travel we can only imagine who were also bothered about communicating with a race that would appear about as advanced as pond scum to them. either that or a species that had been sending out electro magnetic waves for so long that they have arrived at our planet (our own broadcasts have not got very far considering the galaxy is 100000 light years across and we have only been sending out for 70 / 80 years)

so we may not see it our lifetime beyond dead bacteria on mars or something on europa

Yes, by using satellites we have seen other galaxys so it is highly unlikely we are the only planet in the universe with life on it.
