  1. You should call the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA and ask them about the HEP program for the school of medicine, it wont cost you a penny but during your high school years you have to go there during your vacation if they ask how you know about this program, tell them you hear from Dr. Athea T.

  2. It's amazing that you're thinking that far into your future at such an early age! I didn't decide I wanted to be a doctor until I was 21! In my opinion, any doctor is fine. A lot of the time you find out what you want to specialize in when you do your rotations (switch from different specialties) your 4th year of medical school and when your an intern. As for high school, try to do the post secondary program or take AP classes and in college just try to maintain a 3.6 and start studying for your MCAT's 3 years in advance! Volunteer work and extracurricular activities help, along with good letters of recommendation. Also research is a bonus. Good luck!

  4. heyyy samee here im 13 and ive had straight a's since forever. if i could pick id be an anesthesiologist. its nott help butt w/e :]

  5. hahaha

  6. If you could try to volunteer (even a few hours a week) at your local hospital tell them you are interested in being a doctor. They may put in a setting in the hospital were you can get some experience. Maybe the ER or on a floor as a unit clerk. They may even let you speak to an anesthesiologist to ask him some questions. Also talk to your pediatrician he may let you shadow him one day in his office.

  7. Hello, i am 14, and am also interested in the field of medicine. All i can say is do whatever you like. 20 years from now it won't matter what answer you got on a Yahoo account, but what interests you and what you like. Some people enjoy mysteries, finding out stuff, they go into diagnostic mediecine. Some people like easy big bucks, they go into anesthesiologists, some really like to learn about the inside of the body, internal medicine. What ever you like to do. As for help in school and college... you need to do the best you can in middle, and in ninth grade everything starts to count, try to as much Ap(advanced placement) or honors classes as possible and do biology and anatomy/physiology courses. Also do a lot of extracurricular activites and work so that the colleges can see that you are self "sustaining". For a pre-med school you shouldn't be too concerned about it's quality, but for the medical school itself you need the best, like John Hopkins School of medicine.

Best of luck, i'll see you in JHSM
