Lactulose is not absorbed, so the calories that it might have do not get in.  It works as a laxative by increasing the water content in the colon and therefore adding to the volume of the stool.

Yes, but it would be very minimal. According to their website at http://www.lactulose.com/lactulose/produ... it's a synthetic sugar that is a combination of Galactose and Fructose, each of which have a small amount of calories.

Anything you can eat and digest (as compared to absorbed like water) will have some amount of calories, even if it's less than 1.
