  1. yes

  2. no of course not

  3. If you don't mind me asking, what are you going to london for?

  4. NO  NOT CASH THEY DONT GET THEM CHANGED IN ANY BANK,

      ALL CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED

  5. Do they accept pounds sterling in the US?

  6. No, you have to exchange your dollars for pounds sterling

  7. Nowhere in London accepts US dollars, unless they are in the form of travellers cheques and even then its not that easy.

If I went into a bar in the US and tried to pay in foreign currency, do you think they'd be happy ? Its the same in the UK.

Some stores do accept Euros, but thats pretty rare.

  8. Generally, no.

Some large stores, such as Marks and Spencer, accept US dollars (and Euros too), but this is very rare and you'll pay through the nose in exchange rates.

So either get some pounds before you go, or take some dollars to change into pounds at a bank or post office when you get there.

You could just rely on your credit card, of course (Visa, AmEx and MC are accepted pretty much everywhere),  but it makes sense to carry some cash too, for tips and small purchases.

  9. Of course not!  Why would they?!  Do restaurants, clubs, bars and theatres in the US accept payment in British pounds?  I've lived in London my entire life and I can assure you that I've never seen or heard of anyone buying anything in US dollars.

  10. not that i know of
