Does anybody know the place Kalkar?

It's in Germany, close to the border to the Netherlands. It will be our next assignment. I would just like to know how it is there and how far away it is from bigger cities.

Small town surrounded by a lot of nature. Nearest bigger cities in the Rhein-Ruhr / Ruhrgebiet Area are Duisburg, Oberhausen, Essen, Düsseldorf (within 50/60km radius). On the dutch side of the border Nimwegen (historical town and a great anatomy museum).
