Question:

Does anyone actually condone this?

Some questions have been asked about the Jewish Pesach. A user called 'god is my judge', who is a Christian, has answered and offered CHRISTIAN theology to the asker, and has claimed to be a 'spiritual jew'. When politely asked to stop MISrepresenting Judaism, she claims she has every 'right' to mislead and that it is 'nasty' of anyone to ask her to stop.

Does anyone actually condone this? Aren't there enough misunderstandings about Judaism WITHOUT evangelicals hijacking questions clearly directed AT Jews?

  1. Absolutely...

Dumb people where made to be toyed with.

And please don't pull this Jews are a race which makes me a racist c**p as I am clearly talking about the faith of Judaism, which as in most faiths is composed of dumb people.

  2. It is infuriating, but I wouldn't take it too seriously.  Most of us know the difference between Jews and Christians.

But perhaps someone could correct me?  I thought Jews were descended from Judah, one of  the twelve tribes of Israel?

  3. OK, I'm not the sharpest tool in the box tonight, I'm full of a stinking cold.

But how on earth can she be a Christian and a "spiritual jew"? <blinks> I don't get that one at all!

She needs to stop misrepresenting a faith she clearly knows nothing about.

  4. answer: sounds like one of those that feels the ends justify the means. One of the few who believes that lying and deceiving others is okay as long as it leads to someone converting to their religion (or sect of religion).

I truly don't understand people who dilute Jewish rituals and holy days by twisting Christianity into it.  If you're a Christian, say so and be proud! Some Christians talk about being "grafted" or "spiritual Jews" without learning about Judaism.

No one should condone deceit, unfortunately some do.

  5. They're called Trolls.

They're the school yard bullies of the Internet.

  6. well this IS Yahoo Answers, i.e. you have to be prepared for anybody and everyone to stick their oar in ...

  7. No.

You will know a true follower of Christ Jesus by their deeds.

  8. I understand your misgivings about this behaviour, however, I feel the way to counter this is not to try and prevent them but to let them speak openly. Reasoned argument will prevail over bigotry. Let people see this person for what they are and don't give them a chance to accuse you of gagging them.

  9. As an observer, I would perhaps suggest that any important theological question concerning Judaism, be directed to your Rabbi.  He will be able to answer them in the correct manner and with the relevant essential background information.

    Suggested websites:

    www.jewfaq.org/

    www.shamash.org/trb/judaism.html

    www.judaism.com/

  10. No, I do not condone it. I do not know that much about Judaism and try not to offer answers where I am not wanted if I do not know what they need. It is truly sad.

  11. you can hope that the asker can tell a real answer from a 'misrepresented" one

  12. No, it's not right, but, luckily when a question is asked, there are usually several answers, and people have the ability when answering to debunk an another answer if it is a lie or just completely wrong and un-factual. If you see an answer like that, which you know to be wrong, on a subject you are familiar with, then all you can do is give your own strongly worded answer.  I don't think that there are many people here who would go out of their way to purposefully mislead anyone:)

  13. I always find this appalling. I think this whole "Jews for Jesus" thing is a crock. But as a good Jew it is up to you/us to tolerate other people's ignorance. You know what is right. You know what the Torah says. All that matters is your personal relationship with Hashem. It would be so nice to show people the right way but sometimes in this foolish world it is not possible.

  14. As I mentioned on that posted question, answering questions with the intent of misleading someone is intellectual dishonesty and the mark of a small mind.

Although I am Jewish, I have read the NT and the Book of Morman and try to answer questions based on the viewpoint of that particular faith.  It's a shame that there are people that are either trolls (as another poster mentioned) or just plain ignorant.  Pity.

  15. As you know, I certainly don't condone it, as a matter of fact it turns my stomach.

I've just got to remark also that individuals like "janie B", of the statement

    >Christians are Jews that have stopped waiting for the messiah.

who is either an outright liar or possibly the most woefully uneducated Jew I have ever met,

need to be just as shamed. This contributes to the problem. Just want to note to those not in the know - no Jew makes such statements. Ever.

And since when has the definition of "spiritual Jew" changed?

I am a spiritual Jew- meaning I am spiritual in nature (as for the things I seek to understand) and I am a Jew- there is no jebus involved in that. It is **appalling** that these people feel entitled to lie about another's religion.

So perhaps today I shall be a 'xian without jezis'?

  16. No I do not condone the action of the person you are speaking about, by the way if they are not of the 12 tribes of Israel then they are not Jewish, they are gentiles. The promises God made to the Jewish people  are not and were not made to her. And misleading anyone is lying and lying is a sin. So the individual that you are speaking of really needs to read their Bible more.

  17. I don't really care what one delusional character thinks or does to another delusional character and their delusions.

  18. I find people speaking for me, really irritates me. So, I have to say I don't condone this. I wish I could get rid of all posts that start with "they"
