Does anyone have any advice?

On Saturday, I will be 40 weeks. Ever since last night, starting at midnight, I have been having extremely painful contractions. I have not gotten any sleep at all. My doctor says that it is fine and I'm not in labor since they are not coming every 5 minutes and have not dilated more than 1cm. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get some sleep? Every time I am about to fall asleep, I get another painful contraction. This is really driving me up the wall. I am in constant pain! I'd appreciate any advice, thanks for listening.

  1. I had this a little...try a heating pad on low setting under your lower belly. It also helped me to sleep really stretched out, arms above my head when I could.  Other than that, just consider it practice =)

  2. my god you are nearly there...how exciting!! congratulations. Unfortunately, the contractions will seem to be more annoying the more you try to rest, but you must rest any way you can, you will need your energy. If this was me I would put my feet to the pavement to get things moving!! gentle exercise (walking and NOT alone) will help, but all you can really do is prepare yourself for labour, eat those fresh fruit and veges, and go for those carbs, they are low gi and will give you that energy you so badly need, pasta, wholemeal bread and rice. also if you feel up to it, have s*x! the sperm has the same ingredient that is used in the drip for inductions, it stimulates the cervix to dilate. good luck and all the best!

  3. THIS WONT HELP YOU AT ALL...BUT I WANTED TO SAY THAT IM 40 WEEKS ON SATURDAY AS WELL... =)

IM ACTUALLY QUITE JEALOUS THAT YOU ARE HAVING CONTRACTIONS...

IM ONE CENTIMETER AS WELL...BUT I HAVENT HAD A SINGLE CONTRACTION...

I FEEL LIKE IM GOING TO BE PREGNANT FOREVER

AT LEAST YOU ARE HAVING LABOR SIGNS <3

  4. Congrats on your new baby coming but unfortunately there is really nothing you can do to help you get some sleep! Just try to relax, lay on your left side, and breathe! Hopefully you will be able to get some rest! Your going to need it!
