It has been shown to help with ME, but the Government will not allow it, lol, in fact they have just upgraded it to Class 2 again.

There really is no evidence that it is useful. The problem is that some individual chemicals in the drug might well turn out to have some therapeutic uses in the fullness of time, but exactly like tobacco, when burnt, there are hundreds of compounds released, most of which are toxic.  The biggest concerns with cannabis smoking are that it it increases the risk of schizophrenia by as much as 40%. Chonic users also get brain atrophy or shrinkage, this accellerates and causes dementia. Cannabis is also 6 times more likely to cause lung cancer than conventional tobacco. Finally, it looks as though cannabis causes impotence in young males, especially if smoked from an early age.

I suffered with M.E for years, and to the other guy, trust me it's not psychological! I never smoked cannabis as a way to help with the symptoms.  But i do know alot of other suffers that did.  I also have some very severly disabled friends who smoke it alot, who find it very good with pain etc..

I was lucky, I didn't suffer with the pain side of M.E

I would probably say that the effects of it psychologically might be worse than what you suffer with now.  

But I would say in my opinion its about 50/50 as to whether it helped my fellow sufferers.  Sorry to of not been more help.

For those of you thinking he is asking about himself!! He's not, its a well known recognised medical illness.!
