Does jogging make you lose muscle?

I am very muscular, I almost have no body fat, but I want to start jogging, because I want to be muscular and in shape, I know for a fact if you are over weight that jogging will make you lose weight, but what I want to know is if that if you jog and are completely muscle does that make you lose weight too? thanks

  1. If your goal is to run for fat loss, then ditch the long distance running. Excessive running CAN decrease your lean body mass. This is because long distance running is catabolic, and releases the hormone cortisol. This is evident by looking at long distance runner's physiques which are usually long and slender, with little muscle mass. Compare this to a sprinter's physique which is usually very lean and muscular. Try sprints in an interval fashion. If you run at a track, try sprinting for half the track (1/8 of a mile), then jog or walk the other half. Keep doing this until you complete 1 mile. Do this 2 to 3 times per week.  


  2. Well People don't actually lose weight unless there really heavy. Muscle weighs more than fat. So by working out you turn that fat into muscle which it doesn't look like you lost much on the scale lol. But by jogging it wont lessen your muscle, It would only add. You'll start seeing more muscle on different parts of your body.
