  1. no.. i've been using limewire for about two years and havent caught a virus at all..

  2. it does but i have frostwire because its faster and has no viruses so i would download frostwire fr free instead

  3. yes. a lot.

but if your downloading music theres only a few

you can always tell by the file size...

  4. lots and lots of them but you just have to be careful on what you download.

  5. Yes it has a lot of viruses.

  6. NO, and anyone who tells you different doesn't know what theyre talking about.

  7. No, but the older versions had exploits that could be used to gain access to your computer. You should not share any important files, system files preferably nothing, some people just share their entire hard disk lol! If you are on limewire(or any program that connects to gnutella network) malicious people will be scanning your computer to see if they gain access. Limewire itself does not contain any viruses but using it puts your system at risk, if you just want to download music putting this in google:

    -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3) “Nirvana”

Just put the name of the song/artist in the bit where it says Nirvana and you can use google to find mp3/wma files that are in open directories.

  8. Limewire is a huge source for viruses! any file sharing program forces your machine to open a port which allows other users to see you. And file you download may contain a virus. I recommend against using it myself. But if you must use it and you are downloading music then keep back ups of all your songs on a separate computer or external hard drive! there is a new virus out there that once it gets in your system will corrupt every music file on your system rendering all your music useless! Kind of a clever trick to mess with illegal downloaders but very cruel.

    Good Luck!

  9. Some torrents do, some torrents don't.

    Ben

  10. Downloading the program limewire from your computer won't give you a virus, but some of the things you download off it can. Be careful of what you download. I've downloaded lots of things without getting a virus. One time there was a song I was going to download and my virus program and limewire popped up saying it had a virus and my computer quarantined it and limewire let me select to not go ahead with the download. Pay attention to the file size and don't download songs that have a small amount of hosts and ones where there is no info on the songs when you hold your mouse arrow over the song such as : the album, track number, etc....Just be careful and make sure your anti virus software is up to date...do regular virus scans. Also make sure your settings are set to only sharing what folders you want to share. I have it set that limewire only opens when I want it too...versus it being on all the time. You don't want people being able to download sensitive stuff off your computer. Projectplaylist is a sight that works nice. You don't download the songs you have an online playlist of songs you can listen to whenever you want.

  11. it has A LOT of viruses.

    but i still use it.

    hahahahha

  12. its loaded with them!!

  13. Some of the files can have viruses or spyware. Keep your protector (like Nortion or something) up to date and for the most part you should be alright.

  14. download an older version, and don't update it. the updates contain spyware. the main issue with limewire is that alot of the files on it are full of viruses and other harmful files.

  15. While Limewire itself contains no viruses (as long as you download from the official site/mirrors), the content shared on it's networks might.

  16. I've been using Limewire for a few years have never caught a virus.People say it does but I haven't come across any yet.just don't download any software. That's where most of the viruses come from.Stick to only downloading  music & movies.

  17. h**l lot of viruses!! make sure u dont download scams..

  18. As long as you don't download .exe files or packages like .zip or .rar you should be fine. Use common sense and stick to music files with formats you recognize like mp3.

  19. a wicked lot of viruses honestly dont do it man

  20. its a little dodgey if your downloading software but music and images are generally OK if the title looks genuine and the file size is not rediculously high or low.

    Happy downloading!!

  21. h**l YEAH!
