Does lucozade energy tablets work??

i feel i dont have enough energy at the moment.. do the lucozade tablets work and make you more energetic? if not, what is a good energy supplement? :) thanks

they are just a fast acting carbohydrate (simple sugars) so your body can absorb it quickly. They only really work if your blood sugar is low.

If you want an energy pick up short-term (ie. before a night out) your best bet is caffeine and/or taurine. The lucozade energy drinks contain both. Or Ephidrene (depending where you are from and whether it is legal in your country) which can be bought in Z-3 or Zantrax pills.

Long-term though all those things are really bad for your health. One of the major causes of fatigue today is dehydration. Make sure you are drinking 2-3 litres of water every day, and if you do have a coffee or a cup of tea, add another glass of water to that! It's uncomfortable at first, but when your body gets used to it you will feel like a new person.

They don't particulary make you feel mentally more awake, but they give you more physical energy. All that they are is sugar, so they boost your blood sugar up so stops you feeling as faint. They are good if you are going on a long walk or something similar. However dont eat too many of them, as i said they are only sugar so pump ur blood sugar up and then it will very suddenly come crashing down, making you feel hungry and faint.

dextrose tablets are a similar product.

Diabetics take them when they have injected too much insulin.
