Question:

Does my TV support NTSC?

I'm considering buying a NTSC Nintendo Wii, but I'm not 100% sure if my TV can handle NTSC. I have a modified PAL Playstation 2, and I can play NTSC games and DVD's perfectly. Does this mean that my TV can handle NTSC? I mean, I've never tried to hook up a NTSC console to it or anything, just the PAL PS2 with NTSC games. Are there any difference between playing a PAL PS2 with NTSC games and a NTSC Wii with NTSC games?

  1. The video system NTSC, PAL is the signal that is sent to the TV from the video game. At this point even though you are playing NTSC games the signal going to the TV is still PAL.

You will need to check your TVs specks to be sure.

There is a good chance it will not work.

  2. You need to get a multi-system TV that supports PAL, NTSC and NESCAM.
