Does my principal sound stupid?

Nobody at my school like her at all. We went on a school trip to Stratford Ontario and she decided to come along. I went last year and this year as well. She wasn't with us last year and my teacher let us wander off by ourselves downtown. This year, we had to pair up with someone for some stupid reason. She caught me by myself and actually ran after me to say you need a buddy. Ok I'm 17 and I consider myself a loner. I hate having to walk with someone. I seriously think it was her that made this rule because she didn't come last year and nobody cared. If you have ever been in Stratford, you know it's hard to get lost downtown. If you do, there's maps and plenty of people to help you. Get this. When she found somebody so I could "buddy up with", she actually asked me if I needed her to do it. Lady I'm not a friggen 8 year old. I'm almost an adult, I think I can handle this myself. I wish I said that to her. Anyways she's just an idiot. I showed her later. I ditched my "friends" and wandered off to the theatre by myself. She just so happened to be waiting there and got surprised when I was alone. Hopefully that taught her that I'm not stupid and know my way around.

She sounds like a control freak.  But, think about this: things are crazy these days... maybe the school has stricter rules since insurance premiums are on the rise and everyone's sue-crazy.  If something were to happen to you, it wouldn't just be a tragedy, but it would be HER responsibility.  Sounds more like she's trying to cover her own butt than make your life miserable.  Don't worry, you'll be 18 soon enough:)

No your principal does not sound stupid nor is she an idiot.  She  must protect the students, the school and herself.  

Do you remember Aruba? Maybe your principal does. The unfortunate disappearance of Natalee Holloway (5/2005). If the chaperons (teachers) had reacted more like your principal, maybe that story would have ended differently. Having just graduated from high school, this young lady was not a "frigging" eight year old either. She, like yourself, thinking she could handle things, ditched her friends, went out exploring and has never been found.  Fortunately, you had no problems, but now considering all that could have happened to you, I'm wondering who the idiot really is.

Cant stand teachers like that let alone the principal!!

All my schools it seemed the principal was the least caring and laughed at the crazy things i did but this one you speak of, i bet shes single living alone having baked beans and two minuite noodles everynight moaning about how miserable she is and taking it out on you people!

You are not an adult, the school gets sued or whatever unless your parents give consent.
