Does my rabbit have bugs?

I'm not sure what kind of bugs rabbits can get on their fur. My rabbit has black fur and his skin underneath it white. but ive noticed a patch on his back with black skin, and in that area the fur is very loose. When i was grooming him, i noticed that as soon as i went over that specific spot on his back, he jumped up. What could it be?

  1. Hmm,

That sounds like a case of Hisimgitus Sophigam. A rare case but fatal in rabbits...

The skin becomes irritated and infected from underneath and spreads throughout the organs causing them to slowly shut down...

not really. get some good shampoo and conditioner for rabbits or ferrets even. and see if that helps..

just take him to the vet.

its better to be safe then sorry

  2. I think it is best to bring it to the vet to ask them what it is.

  3. I'm sure your vet could tell you what it is. I'd recommend taking your rabbit in to a small animal vet.
