To collect one’s saliva in the mouth and then to swallow it, trying to quench thirst, will make the fast Makruh (disliked). (Nurul Idhah Pg. 147)

However, swallowing one's own saliva (without collecting), will not make the fast disliked.

(Aapke Masa'il Aur Unka Hal Vol. 3 Pg. 286)

Earthcal made a good point. It is not a sin to swallow your own spit as you would normally otherwise wouldn't there be many (god forbid) deaths during ramzan ? You cannot kiss your spouse heavily because you may swallow his/her spit (kind of nasty)

Ok, so I'm kidding, but gimme a break! Who cares if you break your fast? God? You think he's going to say "Hey, theres a guy over there just swallowed some spit! Throw him into h**l!" Forget god! There is no such thing.  And particularly, there is no god who gives a mouthful of spit if you swallow some of your own!  So swallow away! Or better still, don't fast! Have some bacon and eggs!

To intentionally swallow the saliva of one's wife or husband ... perhaps while kissing, breaks the Fast.

To just naturally swallow your own saliva does not break the Fast.

eating or drinking intentionally does. Swallowing water  while gargling does.  mouthful vomiting does and opening the fast b4 its tym even if its unintentionally does.
