  1. It doesn't teach science at all.

  2. It's a bunch of stories and myths by shepherds trying to explain the world they lived in.  It's not meant to be scientific.  And it's not.  It certainly shouldn't be used a science textbook.

  3. Does not teach science it teaches the philosophy of life, the "mental" aspect of reality just like other religions. Not a science of nature but a science of Mind.

  4. There are many scientific facts within the Bible.

In times before Gallielo Gallilie or however u spelled his name.... they thought they could count the stars, but now we know that they are innummerable... the bible had said that.  (deut. i think)

Also, the bible says that it is better to wash your hands in running water, and back in past years nobody would do that, now look at today, who doesnt?

and thirdly in Isaiah it says the World is round (look it up), now that was written in BC way before Columbus or anyone else by some guy in little Israel/Palestine area.

You cant tell me the Bible is not scientific.

  5. One could just as well ask whether Shakespeare or Superman comics teach pseudoscience. The answer is no. That's not the purpose of such books. The Bible itself has nothing to do with science.

  6. I would answer that by saying it teaches neither. The Bible teaches a set of ideas that are "correct" from the Biblical perspective. If that sounds circular, you're right, it is. Religious dogma is not subject to revision like scientific knowledge is.

Only when parts of the Bible are taken and taught as if it is a science textbook does it become pseudoscience. The most obvious example of this is Creationism and its offshoot, Intelligent Design.

  7. it's like the least scientific book ever.

i would compare it to a book about magic, where things just happen and appear out of nowhere yet throngs of people eat it up like it really happened. *rolls eyes*

  8. Well the bible does not teach scientific fact. I know that much. I had attended Catechism from preschool to Conformation. Some teachers taught the bible was accurate word for word, others taught it was more like lessons and morals to be learned from the story.

See, you also need to take into consideration that the bible was written by man, man's interpretation and man is seriously flawed. Normal / natural occurrences could have been easily misinterperted as the hand of God, floods, Locust, etc. I do not believe Adam and Eve were the first people, I believe in evolution.

  9. I think the Bible is made up of history and science and the paranormal...including UFOs. It's also a love story.
