  1. Ok I'm not a scientist but I think the Universe will not end.Humans will end of course but other civilizations will keep on going. There are other life forms than us.I'm not saying there's aliens but other life forms.Hope to help!!

  2. It is not easy to have a proper concept of the Universe. We are used to seeing a baseball from the outside or a balloon from the outside or even the Earth as a planet with things outside of them.

The Universe is not the same. We know that the Universe has an age. Therefore it has a size. It is not infinite in size.

We know by observations and measurements that the Universe is about 14 billion years old.

The first concept you must have is that before the Universe expanded there was nothing. There was no space. The Universe did not expand into empty space that already existed. The expansion of the Universe from the Big Bang moment CREATED space. So we have a Universe with NOTHING on the outside. There is no outside.

The speed of expansion has not been at a constant velocity but from what is known and from what can be estimated, the Universe is a sphere about 92 billion light years in diameter. Again, although the shape is roughly a sphere, there is no 'outside' of the sphere.

Observable facts show the Universe to be isotropic and homogeneous. What this means is that no matter where you are inside the Universe, you will perceive yourself to be at the center of the Universe.

Mathematical calculations show that the Universe curves into itself. This means it has no edge, no end, no wall.

If you took off in a spacecraft and could fly as fast as you wanted to in what you thought was a straight line, you would end up where you started from. Never finding an end or edge or wall.

It is weird yes. It is also a concept that humans are unfamiliar with. Even though we know that the size of our Universe is finite, there is nothing - not even empty space - that exists outside of it.

  3. universe never ends (there are parallel universes just milimeters away from us) its just space nothing out theres after trillion or so light years theres only galaxies for couple of trillion light years rocks and everything is slowly floating away into deep space after the center of the big bang maybe there are more and more galaxies out there in our diminsion but we wont find out the answer in our life time might have to wait couple of hundred years till technology advances more.

Theres a theory that our universe it expanding faster than speed of light. Another theory is that there are universes everywhere floating around it is too small for us to see or any of the machines and it is increasing in its size in another universe that we are in. Its like been trapped in multiple universes enclosed

  4. i've heard that their is an infinite number of different universes that exist

which all have there own set of rules (as in laws of physics, nature, etc)

having membranes made of energy just floating around in space in all different shapes. However, when one collides with another, that's an entirely new story. The collision is what we call the Big Bang for the creation of our universe. The left over/existing energy and matter creates a new universe. i suppose if this theory was to be true, the universe has to end at one point although that does not leave out the theory that it can still expand.

  5. The Universe will go on forever, but maybe it will collapse into a small, packed space and do a Big Bang again, or nothing will happen; it'll just be the same old universe forever.

  6. I've heard this question asked many times before and this is about the same answer I gave them...

There are two theories. One theory is that the universe is finite in size and mass/energy (since mass and energy is interchangeable via E=Mc^2). In this theory there is no edge. If I were to leave Earth in a space ship and head in a perfectly straight line I would end up right back at Earth coming from the opposite direction. This is  why some scientists say the universe loops around itself. Its like one of those old video games... if you fly off one end of the map you end up on the opposite side.

The second theory is that the universe is infinite in size and mass. In this scenario their would be no edge for obvious reasons.

Tests have been done and no conclusive answer has been reached in deciding which answer is true. If the universe was finite that the ripples from the Big Bang would only be a certain size being filtered out by the limited size of the universe and have a specific pattern imprinting cirlce like patterns on to the waves. However, data suggests there is no large waves yet there are also no discernible patterns therefor the data supports both hypothesizes and disproves both... quite the predicament. I guess we will have to wait until the another generation of physicists figure it out or until we join the ranks of prestigious physics theorists and figure out the problem ourselves =)
