Is it just me?

As you watch the flooding in the Midwest, have you noticed that there are no farmers running around with stolen plasma TVs or holding stolen liquor over their heads.

There's no looting or yelling 'Where's Bush?',

'Where's FEMA?, Where's my check?', or 'Why isn't the Gov't out here saving me and my farm?'

Likewise, I've also noticed there are no reports of any other country coming to help or sending aid.

Shocking isn't it?

I've noticed that as well, apparently it doesn't sell as well in the media since it effects a group belonging to the majority.

The bright side though is that they are really doing a good job taking care of the situation, they are sharing houses and are building their own dams, so kudos for them anyways.

I think Bush after 8 years of s***w up is finally learning how things are done.  Maybe we should elect him four more years?  I am apprehensive trying a newcomer.

I'm so sorry, but I have heard enough about New Orleans  and Katrina.....What about the people in the north along the Mississippi and it's tributaries that have lost everything! they have gone out and sandbagged without complaining or asking for a government check...they have not had any 'RAP'

singer say that the president doesn't like them because they are the wrong color....they haven't sat on the behinds and waited to be moved with checks in hand....they haven't been seen on TV looting along with the cops.... they don't have any celebrities donating money and rebuilding new homes for the cities no rap/singers having concerts to raise money to help them..from now on if your afraid take the time to remember there is more to the United States than Louisiana....you know all that talk about global warming....my friend there will be a lot less to ALL of the states with a coast line not just Louisiana.

Find another soap box to stand on I've heard your story too long now.

Because those with small farms haven't been getting hand outs all along like most of those in New Orleans were... if you breed a sense of entitlement in groups of people they can't fend for themselves in a time of crisis because they've never had to...

What it comes down to is this... most of America has started to look at the government as their "big brother"... they take on the "so what if I fail or put no effort forth... big brother will give me a handout until I decide to attempt to do for myself again"...

It's high time to rid ourselves of forced charity so those that expect everything to be given to them on a silver platter either sink or swim by actually earning their way in life...

Great observation. I completely see your point, it is a general feeling I would say in government not to help the home economics you prove this with your question. Pretty sad our country is headed in a nose dive into a recessation with a depression soon to follow and no one is helping our home economic/agricultural society that clearly are less barbaric then most other people in our greedy country. Great observation, this sounds sarcastic but I sincerely mean it.

edit great observation Heather, who knows where all those rich and powerful celebrities are probably cleansing in some strange scientology cult event. Who knows, our world is so screwy!
