Question:

Does this really make sense?

Bins in our area get emptied fortnightly, well, house hold rubbish one week, recycle the next. Great for me, just myself and my son, we dont create much rubbish, but for families, it is crazy! They have extra bags, every week, which unless they are happy to share their gardens with rats, they have to take a trip to the local tip. Now, if every household take 2 bags to the tip, every other week, how can that be improving the enviroment, all that petrol?

  1. Since you said "rat", I think folks need to move it out to the local"tip", I assume that is the County dump. Do you pay for that service? It doesn't really matter. That is all that the trash is picked up, so on to the County dump. You have to schedule money for gas

  2. So basically you want your garbage picked up more often?

I think this is something you need to take up with the garbage company or your local government, because not much is going to be done about it on Yahoo Answers. Maybe a petition signed by the families in the neighborhood who are having extra garbage, along with your explanation would be helpful. Also, I would have someone try to figure out actual statistics about the fuel usage so that you have something to back your argument. Good luck.

  3. No  it is  not environmentally friendlyier.  it may encourage  soem  to recycle  more  but as you say there is always  rubish  that can not be recycled,
