Question:

Does this sound like a cyst?

I am 45 and have been skipping periods and having more intense PMS whether I have a period or not, so am assuming I am perimenopausal. Last month I noticed a small bump between my b*****s, under the skin. It seemed to go away, but today I felt it again, and it is larger this time. It has never hurt (though I poked and prodded at it today and now it is a little sore). I have never had cysts before, that I know of. Does this sound like a cyst? It appeared almost overnight or just within days, I think. Should I give it a week to see if it goes away again? Don't cysts normally disappear on their own? Thanks for your help. It kind of freaked me out today. :/

  1. Yes, it's possible that this could be a cyst but based on what you describe it sounds like it could be one of your lymph nodes (an example only).

Most cysts usually go away on their own.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
