What if it is pure wasabi? I'm wondering because I'm supposed to stay away because I have seizures and it can lower my threshold.

  1. No, it was made from a root plant call wasabi. They grated it  with a metal oroshigane to make wasabi

  2. Hello !

No Fear...fresh wasabi does not contain MSG.

Wasabi is usually sold either in the form of a root, which must be very finely grated before use, or as a ready-to-use paste, usually in tubes approximately the size and shape of travel toothpaste tubes.

Once the paste is prepared it should remain covered until served to protect the flavor from evaporation. For this reason, sushi chefs usually put the wasabi between the fish and the rice.

I am trying to eat healthy too and NO MSG for me as well!

    GOOD LUCK & HAPPY COOKING!

  3. No

  4. Pure wasabi doesn't contain any MSG, because it's basically the wasabi root grounded into a paste; so it's completely natural. The wasabi powder in a can, as well as the paste in the tube is really just horseradish colored bright green, and horseradish is something that doesn't contain MSG, so you'll be fine. :)
