Dog vomiting poo and blood?

So I got home and my dog vomited poo and blood all over my house. It happened again last night after her dinner. I suspect an obstruction of some sort as there was a splintered chewed stick in the yard. I am broke and maxed out my credit cards. What should I do?

  1. You need to call the vet immediately.  You vet may agree to let you make payments or have other options on paying for the care of your dog.  At the least you should take the dog and have him PTS as he is obviously suffering.

  2. Since your broke right now && you cant take it to the vet. Can it be from the food it ate? I think it can happend from the food you gave him. My pup did the vomiting but not the blood. He was okay the next day. Wait a day or two and if he still is you better call someone up and borrow some money to get it check because it could be serious.

  3. Take the dog to the vet. Don't wait.

  4. worms...i would take to the veteven if u are maxed out on cards. you can even open up a card called care credit and its a vet card. it may be more serious than that even.

  5. he vomited Bile...not poo

Dogs have a way of just being alright.  He should be fine...half the c**p we as humans go to the doctor for would fade away too if we didn't freak out and run to the hospital first

  6. Vomitting poo and blood requires veterinarian  intervention.

    I also suspect obstruction.

You may want to borrow money elsewhere.

  7. Call your vet and explain your circumstances.  Ask what arrangements you can make or if there is anything you can do at home to treat this.  Most vets will not insist that you bring the dog in if there is something you can do on your own and will tell you how to treat at home.  If there's nothing you can do, then you could be leaving her to die a painful death without treatment.  Please at least ask your vet for some kind of payment arrangements.

  8. If you dog is actually vomiting poo there is a blockage in its bowel. You need to see a vet. especially that that there is blood. The sooner the better. In other words right now just take him and don't bother to ring just GO!

If your vet is in that profession for the RIGHT reasons s/he will work something out for you. I know I mine did when my mum's dog was hit by a car and I had no money because mum's was away at the time.

  9. Wow, I don't think I've heard of this kind of thing before.  Well, You could create a fundraiser and tell people about your dog and ask them to donate money to help him and other animals that are in need of medical help, in this way, you will both be helping your dog, and other animals that need help as well.

  10. I'm not a vet but (i'm a medical student), but I've seen this in children before. You are right, it sounds like a small bowel obstruction. This is a serious condition that requires surgical intervention. The obstructing material must be removed and the bleeding stopped. Sometimes the obstruction may be caused by a hernia, a twist in the bowel or the bowel falling into itself. All these are serious and require urgent intervention.

If the stick is causing the obsruction there is a strong chance that your dog may develop sepsis (infection) which will complicate things further.

Take the dog to a vet asap. This is an emergency and I'm sure that most vets would appreciate that and operate. They should also offer ways of payment deferral so that you can pay a fixed sum for a set number of months (credit).

I hope this helps - please go to a vet - this sounds urgent.
