  1. I've seen it once before where the dog had diarrhea while being in heat, but i don't think the two were really related. Plug her up with some metronidazole, haha.

  2. Well im not no vet tech. or nothing but i've delt with dogs and cared for them a long time, and all i have is females and they normally never have diarrhea before they come in heat, if you've changed foods that can cause it, or maybe it ate something that did'nt agree with its stomache.

  3. Oh No. your dog is going to die.

  4. hi,

If diarrhea is the only symptom and it goes away within a day or two, it's likely that your dog simply ate something he shouldn't have.

But if he has any other symptoms, such as vomiting, loss of appetite, or lethargy, if there's blood in the stool, or if the diarrhea is chronic, there may be a more serious problem. If you observe any of these symptoms, definitely contact your vet.

    here's a treatment:

    hope this helps.

  5. I haven't had the symptom of diarrhea as part of my females going into heat. I guess it could be since stress and changes in daily routine can bring on diarrhea. Feed her some cooked rice with low sodium chicken broth poured over it. It works to settle my dogs stomachs. I have seen females actually be sick for the first week of their heat, and I have seen others with no change at all.
