I don't really like chihuahuas because they bark really loud. My favorite is the Toy Poodle. They are really intelligent, and are very fast learners.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N4vM5OJ0... They also grow to be 10 inches tall, and are 4-9 pounds. They come in a variety of colors.

Hi There,

First, it's Chihuahua.  

I recommend heading to the http://www.chihuahuaclubofamerica.com and learning more about the breed.

They are small, but are quite a handful.  And when bought from a bad breeder, can be very mean dogs and very unhealthy.

And remember that if you are young, be sure that your family will take care of the dog for the rest of its life.  A dog is a 15 year committment.  If someone can't be home with the dog for most of the day for the next 15 years, then a chihuahua is not right for you right now.  Sorry!

Research the breed before getting one because you will need to know:

1. Temperament - i've heard these dogs can be possessive and vicious

2. Living conditions - Is she te right breed for you and your house/flat..

3. Financial- These dogs may be small but they can be a handful.

once you have done this and know she is the Right one for you.

1. choose a good breeder (make sure you see mother/father)

2. Health check your dog/*****.

The eyes should be clear and bright, ears should be clear, the dog should be quite active and not drowsy at all. If he/she is find another breeder.

3. Make sure it's all above board.

i wouldn't recommend keeping this breed with cats, young children/babies or other dogs (from past experience)
