Domain joining access denied

I need to add my laptop to my school's domain. I know that i can do it with the network ID wizard in the system propeties and i also know that that i can do it with the other way in system properties, but every time i attempt to join it, an error message appears with "Access denied".

My network administrator will make me pay $90 to get him to do it for me and he refuses to tell me how to do it.

Any suggestions? or any other methods of joining domains?

  1. You obviously don't have sufficient rights to join the windows domain. I'm assuming you are answering the authentication prompt with the credentials that your school provided. Your network admin has the rights to do it but won't, Most likely due to a policy against non-standard(not school issued) equipment.

Solution: Don't bring non-standard equipment and attempt to join it to the network. Or, pay the netadmin to join your machine to the network, if it isn't a policy violation, I'm sure you could negotiate something.
