Dominica: The Rain Season?

Question

I am planning my trip to Dominica ( the island, not Dominican Republic ) in August and found that "The rainy season is from July to October". What does the rainy season look like there? Thanks in advance.

The reason the island is so beautiful is due mainly to the combination of rain and sunshine during the rainy season. That's what keeps the island green instead of a burnt brown. Much of the time the rain will fall while you are sleeping at night or very early in the morning. Periodically, you will get scattered showers lasting anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour during the day, and sometimes you will get an all day rain, but this is rare.  I am sure you will enjoy a nice shower in the tropics :) especially  in August, since it is one of the hottest month in the Caribbean.

Enjoy the hikes to some amazing waterfalls in Dominica!!
