Donate Birthday money to Cancer Research?

Okay, so I just turned 16 and had a little party with my family and friends. It's strange, because I was so excited to get my gifts and money, and I was thinking of all the cool stuff I could buy, but now that I think about it, I feel that it's unfair for me to be buying clothes while there are still millions of people suffering from Cancer, among other disease and illness's. I p|iss and moan about the dumbest things in my life, like when my internet goes down, or when theres a thunderstorm and my satellite TV stops working.I ****** about this stuff, while there are hundreds of thousands of people who would do anything to be in my position. I got about $750.00, what do you think about me donating it all to Cancer research?

I think that is a really sweet idea, and you seem like such a nice person! That's a really nice thing to do :) Many people would be selfish and keep it, I'm glad you're not selfish :)

Getting gifts from people makes me uncomfortable, so I remember once for my birthday I told everyone who wanted to get me a present to buy cat or dog food/beds/etc. so I could donate it all to the shelter. It was a really lovely idea and so I've even managed to start a tradition of doing that in my family.
