Double axel?

Question

How long did it take for you to land your double axel/single axel?

Any tips? I haven't started training for it yet but I hope to land it by this year.

I'm 15 (if that helps.)

I landed my first single after 3-4 weeks but it was not consistent for about 2 years.

I am currently working on my double.

it took me 4 mo. to land my single axel

and 6 mo. to land my double axel

Everyone is different, I know some people who it took 3 years and others that took 1 year and a half to get their double axel, for me, I took 1 month, because I did a ton of drills and I wanted it more than anything. After I got my double axel, I broke my tailbone doing them and didn't do them for a while, so right know I am working on getting them more consistant.  My single axel took a week. My best advice to you would be to stick in some waxel pads and just do it, because you will never know until you try. You may have more difficulty if you have larger b*****s and a larger butt, because you have more to swing around in the air, but anything is possibble. Expect to fall, and expect to be THAT close, but not get it.

It varies, like I know from fluffs that it took Emily Hughes 6 years. (I'm pretty sure. Haha, I'll feel bad if I put the wrong number.) But she is very consistent, and did compete at the Olympics. Do you know what you're doing wrong btw?

I finally had it, but I believe it might of been cheated, and it's not consistent. I haven't been working on it, so I don't know my time span. But give it a good 3 months to just get used to it. Good luck!

It took me about a year to land my single axel, but I suffered a bad fall and couldn't skate for 3 months.

My single took about four months to land, but much longer to get completely consistant.  I could never land a clean double, but it took me about half a year to land it an eighth cheated.  I could never get it consistant though.  Some days it was great, others not so great.
