Drafting start-up questions

I am starting my own drafting service for residential homes and additions in Florida. What do I need to do to be legal? I am researching and trying to learn all I can learn before I take the plunge. I want to make sure that I am legal. I have purchased the program I wish to use and am coming up with a business name and logo. I am not going to be engineering my own plans or building them, although I do have an engineer I plan to use. What documents do I need to obtain to be legal here in Florida? I will be using this as a side job from my home.

  1. You check with the City Treasurer to see if you have to pay any tax or pay for a license.  You pay $10 at the Secretary of State's Office to register you "Trade Name"  if you want to make sure no one else can steal your name.  Then get to work. /
