Dragonflight, by Anne McCaffrey..?

Is it a good book?

I bought it today, but I just want to know everyone's opinions =)

I hadnt read any of her books until after she paid a visit to my local book-shop one evening.

   I went along out of curiosity to hear what she had to say, and when she admitted to crying herself when she killed off one of her characters I decided to give the dragon books a whirl.

   That was nearly 20 yrs ago now and I read them again and again.

Its pretty good.

It starts out "in medias res", so it may take you a while to understand what's going on.

I read a bunch of them, but couldn't keep up with all the sequels, there are more than a dozen.

I read some of those Dragon books over and over.

I love the Pern books, they are the kind you can read over and over again.

You can just lose yourself in the world and wish you had a dragon of your own.
