Dream Interpretation Q...?

Okay, well this one's always baffled me. Has been years since I had this dream, but haven't forgotten it, because it was kind of disturbing...so be forewarned, I guess. In my dream, I'm some sort of a ranger (I assume forest ranger, because the dream takes place in the forest, but am not sure). Anyhow, Sometime in the past in the dream, the other rangers and myself captured and imprisoned a little boy who was murderous and cannibalistic. The little boy killed his mother and then started eating her. The mode of imprisonment was rather odd....we chained him up, filled his house with water, and then froze it. So basically, he and his mother both are frozen in a block of ice in their cabin in the woods. My dream starts when I find out that the ice has thawed. I say goodbye to my family (not my real family, in the dream I'm a man and I have a wife and children), and the other rangers and I head out to the woods to recapture the boy and keep him from killing again. More....

  1. My sister in law once told me her therapist had told her, "You put your feelings "in the freezer" so you don't have to deal with them."  That comes to mind as I read this dream.

I think the boy is you.  There are issues from your past you didn't deal with.  Most likely anger.  Ferocious anger.  Must have had something to do with your relationship with your Mom.  Somehow, perhaps you "drowned" your feelings (or not).  You froze those feelings and kept this angry 'inner child' on ice, in the deep freeze of your heart and mind for a long time.

Then, for some reason, the ice melted.  Perhaps something happened to reawaken these issues and feelings for you.  But then, he was free, and you knew you had to deal with this rage and hurt.  Building a ring of fire around him sounds like you took some desperate measures to control him.  Perhaps you had some help in the matter.  But I wonder if this inner child has yet been captured, healed and tamed.

Pray and ask God to reveal the true status of this wounded, angry inner child.  He may be even now terrorizing you or others you love, and you may not even realize it.

    God bless you!

  2. This could be a deep-seated feeling for someone or someone in your past - a feeling of rejection you felt or witnessed from a child or even an adult who is still acting like a child being selfish in some way - rejecting or denying or being rejected... this person you might feel is being destructive or the object of your affection, but you know is bad for you or someone else. That no matter what, there might be some bad feeling of rejection from or to that person. You might feel bad for this person, but there's some sense of helplessness for that situation. The child could also represent yourself which can be view as your life (career, relationship, children...) which is consistently draining your enthusiasm and vitality.

Or it's just a good premise for a movie. Maybe you can write a screenplay for it.

  3. Omg Restless, no wonder you have problems falling asleep.  I would be scared to go to sleep too if I had this kind of nightmarish, lucid dream. I can't believe you remembered it in such detail.   I don't even know where to begin to interpret.  My sympathy, though................
