Dreams about babies?

Question

I have been having dreams about babies and im not sure what it could mean. In one dream three babies were given to me. 2 boys and one girl . I could not take care of all of them so i chose the girl. When i was holding the baby i ran into a counter and cut the top of her head on it :(. Then in another dream i had a baby 3 days before my birthday. If anyone could help me out and tell me what it could mean? thanks :)

my mother always tells me that dreaming about babies depends on their gender. if you dreamed about baby boy, that means you will receive good news. if the baby is girl that means that you will receive bad news.
