Drilling into a glass bottle?

The glass is fairly thick its the equivalent of an arizona iced tea/sobe glass bottles.

I've already read up on the correct way to go about drilling into glass. My question is....

If I fail, will the glass bottle shatter and explode? or crack? or just crack into pieces?

It will only crack. If you do it right.. you have good odds it wont.

It could shatter or crack or explode.

If the bottle is not under pressure it will not explode.

I have drilled holes in thick glass using just a copper tube and emery powder paste with water and detergent.
