Drink question?

i found some bottles of mikes hard lemonade in my garage yesterday (july 1, 2008) that dated back to 2004. i thought that it wouldn't be safe to drink them, but my friend said that they would just taste kinda bad but be safe to drink them is this true

only thing that would happen is higher alcohol content

You can also eat four year old bread, too.

I wouldn't count on it being safe to drink.  There's not enough alcohol in it to preserve it; the chemicals in it have probably broken down.
