  1. They sell a clear pedialyte that has no taste to it.  I buy that and mix it with whatever my son is willing to drink.  That way he's getting what he needs mixed with what he likes.

  2. Well a lot of people here gave you good advice there is a web site below that gives you the warning signs for when a child is too dry and I wanted to add that they have something called Pedialyte Popsicles that are pretty good and if your son won't eat that then there are tons of flavors of gatorade at the store and vitamin water.  Also once he starts to mend you can give him the BRAT diet.  My pediatrician told me about it.  It stands for Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast.  I use Tapioca since my kids are all allergic to wheat but those four have a beneficial effect on the gut and are easier to digest once the child is on the mend.

  3. try gatorade or life water, vitamin water

they are the same as pedialyte but less sugary and much cheaper and more flavors

    also try sprite and crackers

    NO MILK or DAIRY

  4. Clear liquids only.

  5. first off take him to the doctor to make sure he dos not have pliloricstynosios which is  irritation to the stomach. i had to do that with my grandson and found that he  had allergies to a lot of difrent things that are in some drinks. that would be my first start

  6. I use to water juice a little and freeze them into an icecube tray and let them suck on them plus watermelon is full of water as well

  7. Ask your pharmacist for Coca Cola syrup.  Has to be Coca cola.  It settles the stomach.  Give him a teaspoon at a time.  Do not give him Gatorade or any other sports or energy drink.  Watered down cranberry juice, weak tea, plain water.  Just keep trying to get him to drink, and stay away from added sugars and caffeine (other than the Coca Cola syrup). You might even try a couple of drops of peppermint oil (also a treatment for nausea) in water with a little sugar.   Little people dehydrate fast.  Even if he is throwing up, he will keep some in if you keep giving it to him.  If he continues to throw up for 24 hours, or runs a fever of any degree, get him to the emergency room.  Just a precaution.  There are too many bugs out there that can knock a kid down fast to play with it.

Hope the little guy feels better soon.

  8. any liquid you can see through. water, gatorade (although I personally don't recommend that since it adds electrolytes that aren't all that great for little ones)  Get some popcicles, and water down some chicken broth.

Warm 7-up or Sprite is also good, as it can settle his stomach and keep him hydrated.

  9. the dr told me to use pedilyte too but it was gross and my son would not drink it... then i remembered that gatorade does the same thing... they told my nana to drink it while she was having chemo...  only thing is that it has a lot of sugar in it so you can always water it down a bit...

    GOOD LUCK!

  10. Homemade pedialyte recipe: 1 pack of koolaid, water, sugar, 2 pinches of salt.  Just make the kool aid like you normally would then add the salt. My pediatrician gave me this info a few days ago.....It helps and the kids like it...

  11. If he won't tolerate Pedialyte, or the freezable Pedialyte popsicles, then consider Gatorade or other sports type juices.

Any other juices should be watered down to where it isn't too sweet.

While getting electrolytes is important, he will easily tolerate some plain water, too. The imporant thing is to just go slow. A sip every five or ten minutes is best. It allows for some absorption while reducing the risk of vomiting.

You may want to void any dairy products overall, but if he can take a bite of some simple baby food, it will also provide him with salts (check the labels, some are good sources of electrolytes, some are not so good).

    Good luck!

  12. Popsicles.
