  1. If you are living in the UK and you obtained you full car licence before the 1st of February 2001, you can have a full moped licence without L plates.

    http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/articles/tra...

    If it was after that date you have to go through the CBT etc.

  2. it's that guy is right,

    in the UK your ok to ride it with a full car licence

    regards x kitti x

  3. HELLO

    1)

    If you have a car licence...

    If you obtained your full car licence before 1 February 2001 you are automatically entitled to ride a moped without L-plates

    AND CARRY A PILLION IF THE MOPED IS A 2 SEATER

    2)

    A moped is a motorcycle that has the following features:

    maximum design speed not exceeding 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) (about 31 miles per hour (mph)

    an engine capacity no greater than 50 cc

  4. If you live in the UK and you passed your driving test before feb 2001 you are entitles to ride a 50cc without L plates and without taking a test.

    If you need more info go here:

  5. IN IL. YOU NEED A LICENCE PLATE BUT MOPES UNDER 50CC YOU DONT NEED A MOTERCYCLE DRIVER LICENCE.

  6. Riding is much more demanding than driving and I would totally recommend taking lessons, contact your local training school, should only be about £50 - £70 to get you to CBT level

  7. "Without L plates" you wouldn't by any chance be in ENGLAND, would you?

    I suspect that statement applies to Most of the US, but in england they like to make the tests you take tougher than ours.  I'd ask at your next MOT, and find out the truth.  I'd say that the legal fiction we apply to mopeds here, that they are just motorized and assisted Bikes, is the sort of delusion we make all around here and you people fail to be confused by.

    A full car license provides Provisional Motorcycle entitlement. Does that mean you can ride without L plates? If you can then you can ride a 125 cc/15 HP Scooter in the same manner as a moped.

    "That licence can be any of the following

    * A provisional driving licence with motorcycle entitlement

    * Full car licence. This automatically provides provisional motorcycle entitlement

    * Full motorcycle licence

    * Full moped licence. This provides automatic provisional motorcycle entitlement if you're aged 17 years or over

    Provisional motorcycle entitlement

    This entitles learners to ride a motorcycle

    * Up to 125cc

    * With a maximum power output of 11kW (14.6bhp) "

  8. No you cant drive a moped, you need to give test for two wheeler also.

  9. depends on where you live.

    in Queensland Australia, as of the first of july no.

    and will need to have held a car licence full for at least a year.

    which sucks.

    to even be able to get a learners permit.

    to old, meaning that the age to ride such a thing will be 20.

    i grew up in south australia.

    at 16 away you go.

    161/2 you can drive a car by yourself. probationary licence.

    victoria 18.

    it is stupid.

    in one country it should be one law.

    based on a world wide standard.

    i moved and so had my licence before those older than me.

  10. In the UK there is no such thing as a moped anymore except the ones that were built pre-1980.  The moped was replaced with a motorcyle that is less then 50cc and restricted to maximum speed of 30MPH.  To be able to ride one of these types of machines without taking a test while having a full car licence you must have pass the driving before the year of (I think) 1992.  A motorcycle dealer should be able to confirm the 1992 date, better to read the Road Traffic Act.  Your own driving licence should actually tell you what you are allowed to drive.

  11. It depends on where you are.  Post the question again and give your location, and someone who lives near there will be able to help you.

    If you happen to be here in California, you don't need any license at all to ride a moped.
