  1. simply ask them for lessons and if they see you with a license and no car they will eventually give a car. Just be a good kid to them

  2. I strongly disagree with the first answer. You should find a part time job and pay for the lessons yourself. for you to get a license you will need their permission until you are eighteen. If you want a car then like the lessons you need to save up the money to pay for one yourself and then you will still need their permission to buy one and then it will be titled to one of them until you are eighteen. Having a driver's license is a grown up thing and should be dealt with as a grown up and not a child. Now many families are having a hard time of things and very well might not have the money that it takes for the lessons or the car and as I said this is a very grown up thing so think like a grown up and speak with your folks and offer to pay for your lessons and for the car they might feel like hey should help but let them say so not you asking for that help.

I still feel like you should be the one to pay your way but having said that I would make the suggestion that instead of buying a car buy a motor scooter. They are great on campus and you can park them anywhere. You can find them used for a very reasonable price and to insure one is much less and they get fantastic mileage
